A sincere Welcome to our new Parishioners and visitors. You may have joined family already living here or decided to start a family here or may have come to work in our local hospitals, industry or business. Whatever your reason, it qualifies you for a Cead Mile Failte, the traditional Hundred Thousand Welcomes.
Our Parish is mainly residential and home to a wide variety of families and individuals from different parts of the world who have made this their home, at least for now and for the future in many cases.
Here, you will find amid the welcomes, schools and churches catering for your children’s needs in education, faith, sport, culture and other suitable forms of development. This is taken beyond the schools and churches into sporting and cultural organisations richly engrained throughout the parish. Second level schools are found in neighbouring parishes and there is a variety of University options within the City of Limerick.
Sport features highly in the schools and in the Parish while nurturing the Catholic Faith is equally important and catered for through preparation for the Sacraments and involvement in children’s liturgies and “Do this in Memory”.
Parishioners of all ages meet and greet especially wherever their children are involved in school, sport or church activities from the day of Baptism through The Eucharist and onto Confirmation and possibly Marriage, years later, growing all the time in the Catholic Faith as a vibrant community along the way.
The History of this Parish and its rich link with the Diocese of Limerick, as seen in the pages of this site, demonstrates how progressive and long-sighted this community continues to be but this history is ever evolving with each new parishioner and visitor who joins us.
Better than any welcome, you are invited to join in any of our activities. The life experience, professional knowledge and cultural gifts you bring with you will richly enhance our existing activities and may prompt some new ones.
Our Parish has about 4,000 households who are kept abreast of matters and in-the-know through a weekly newsletter available at weekend masses and on this website. You will find also a Contact Form in this website which you are welcome to use when communicating with us or seeking information. Above all, you will find a welcome whenever or wherever you chose to meet us. If this does not happen sooner, then you might check it out when our Visitation Team calls to your door some day in the spring.
With every Good Wish and God’s Blessing.
Canon John O'Shea P.P.
