St. Oliver Plunkett Church - Mungret

  Mungret Church

.

Erected in 1981 to cater for the population around Mungret village. It is dedicated to St. Oliver Plunkett, the martyred Archbishop of Armagh who was a victim of the Cromwellian persecution in the 17 th century and was canonised in 1975. The church was built in such a way as to allow for an extension if population trends make it necessary.
